When Leslie Gross from Saul Ewing Arnstein and Lehr LLP called to request headshots for the launch of their Minneapolis office, my old corporate communications antennae raised. Pardon the cliché… You can take the woman out of corporate communications, but you can’t take the corporate communications skills out of the woman.

I led communications for several large acquisitions in my role as director of employee communications at Medtronic, so my brain just automatically starts to organize the steps to coordinate a successful, confidential and seamless rollout.

Communications strategies for business launch

I especially remember the acquisition of a major player in the cardiovascular space based in Brescia, Italy. Invatec had employees on all major continents. The communications rollout was intense and complicated (spanning more time zones than I care to remember) with a 24/7 rollout across multiple days.

Coordinating the headshots for the attorneys joining Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr LLP here in Minneapolis was slightly less complicated, however, I knew how important the timing was while keeping everything confidential.

“KeliComm coordinated our photo sessions so efficiently. They kicked into high gear, meeting our deadlines, matching our brand and exceeding our expectations. And on top of that, they came up with creative ideas for some unique photos that we hadn’t even thought about or asked for! They were such good ideas that we’re launching them in other markets,” says Leslie. “So impressive and made us feel that they were a true partner in our launch. We’re looking forward to continuing to partner with them on other projects in Minneapolis.”

Al Coleman, Kermit Nash and the other Minneapolis team members have been terrific to have in the studio—even though it was one of the coldest days of the year at 28 degrees below zero. Everyone is fired up about the opportunity to join Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr. They have 16 offices across the U.S. specializing in business law with emphases in energy, higher education, insurance and life sciences. Not to mention they are one of the firms who represent our very own Minnesota Vikings.
